Center Events

Drake, John
CEID Director, Dr. John Drake

On July 22nd, faculty, distinguished research guests, postdocs, and students gathered to mark the much-anticipated launch of the Center for the Ecology of Infectious Diseases in downtown Athens. Coordinated by the Odum School of Ecology, the reception featured a brief talk by Dr. John Drake, who outlined the center’s initiatives and aspiration research aims.

An outgrowth of the Computational Ecology and Epidemiology Study Group, which has served the needs of the infectious disease community at UGA for the past eight years, the CEID will organize talks, workshops, and visitors in an effort to enhance the research conducted at university. Additionally, it will also aid research groups with support for scientific programming and grant preparation.

Dr. Drake invited interested individuals to contact him personally (jdrake@uga.edu) if they would like to participate in any upcoming center functions.
