Job Opportunity: Scientific Programmer

The Center for the Ecology of Infectious Diseases seeks a scientific programmer to aide in the development of tools for decision-response and situation-awareness. The selected candidate will work with teams of student, postdoc, faculty, and staff researchers engaged in various projects that elucidate the nature disease transmission, spread, and the potential effects of various mitigation strategies. Primarily, the programmer will work with CEID’s Coronavirus Working Group (CEID), as they seek to provide decision makers with data-driven, information-rich tools for situation awareness about the rapidly changing conditions of the COVID-19 outbreak. Projects include the development of tools for mapping the spatial spread of COVID-19 within China, and abroad, as well as models for understanding the early stages of disease transmission.
