Department: Odum School of Ecology

Research Interests: Effects of parasites on communities and species interactions; habitat modifying species and other ecosystem engineers; physical-biological coupling in estuaries; biogeographic patterns of species’ ranges; conservation biology issues, such as: design and function of marine reserves and development of biological indicators for detection of environmental perturbations

Jeb is a marine population and community ecologist who specializes in ecological parasitology. His research interests are broad, ranging from conservation ecology, to invasion biology, to ecosystem engineers, to physical-biological coupling. He and his students seek to understand how parasites both influence, and are influenced by, the ecological communities in which they are embedded.
